What Is A DIR® Intensive?

At KC:DT, we offer DIRFloortime® therapy intensives to support families in implementing relationship-based strategies at home. These intensives are ideal for families new to the DIRFloortime® model or those living outside the Kansas City metro area. 

❋ Led by DIR® Experts

Our DIR® Intensives are led by DIR® Expert Practitioners who also teach DIR® courses for ICDL.

❋ Intensive

Each intensive provides 2.5 hours of daily therapy for 4-5 consecutive days, creating an immersive learning experience.

❋ Collaborative

Therapists and parents work collaboratively to explore and practice strategies that support regulation, engagement, intentionality, shared problem-solving, emotional expression, and logical thinking, empowering families to continue this transformative approach in daily life.

❋ Supportive

Families receive comprehensive parent education on the DIR® model and develop deeper understanding of how their child's individual differences impact development. 

How It Works

  • Complete all intake forms so our team is best prepared to meet with your family

  • Find the week that works best for your family so you can be best prepared for an immersive week, all about learning and supporting you and your child.

  • If coming from out of town, we will help you with a list of places to stay and also ideas for what to do with your time in the evening

  • Come for your DIR® Intensive and learn more about your child’s individual differences and how to support them and find joy in the process
