Every Path to Thriving Looks Different

Each family’s journey is unique.

We offer flexible options designed to meet you exactly where you are and support your child’s development in ways that feel collaborative and sustainable for your family.

Ongoing Therapy

Through consistent, ongoing therapy sessions, we create the foundation for deep therapeutic relationships where your child feels safe, seen, and understood—the very conditions necessary for growth to flourish.

We work collaboratively with families as true partners, recognizing that you know your child best. Together, we determine the right frequency and combination of services that honor your child's individual differences and developmental needs—whether that's weekly speech therapy, bi-weekly OT sessions, or an integrated approach across multiple disciplines.

These sustained relationships allow us to attune to your child's unique patterns and celebrate their growth over time. As we get to know your child, we adjust our approach to support development while walking alongside your family through transitions, challenges, and victories.

Episodic Therapy

Our episodic therapy model consists of 6-12 week periods of intervention, specifically designed for targeted skill acquisition.  We work with families to identify particular skill areas that require support. During these concentrated intervention periods, we dive deep into goal-specific areas—whether that's using our executive function toolkit, our self-regulation toolkit, or targeting specific goals, such as improving speed and agility.

This approach allows us to provide intensive, relationship-based support exactly when it's needed most, then step back to give families space to practice and celebrate progress at home. By respecting your child's individual timeline and honoring their unique way of being in the world, we create the conditions for authentic skill development.

Therapy Intensives

At KC:DT, our therapy intensives consist of multiple sessions per day for one week. They are designed to accelerate progress, break through plateaus, or even to give your child a powerful boost at the start of therapy. Our therapy intensives—including feeding, AAC, motor, communication, and DIR® intensives—offer families a unique opportunity to focus on one specific area of development for a concentrated period of time.

The power of dedicating an entire week to a single focus allows both children and families to step away from the demands of daily life and immerse themselves fully in the therapeutic process, creating an environment where meaningful breakthroughs can occur. This intensive approach enables families to develop a deeper understanding of their child's unique needs and strengths while building confidence needed to implement strategies and techniques.

The concentrated nature of intensives often leads to accelerated progress as children benefit from the repetition and consistency of daily practice, while parents gain hands-on experience and feel more attuned to their child. Families frequently report feeling more connected to their child and empowered with practical tools and strategies they can continue using long after the intensive concludes. By removing the distractions of typical routines and focusing exclusively on one therapeutic goal, intensives create momentum that extends far beyond the week itself.

At KC:DT, we believe that the right therapeutic match is essential for successful outcomes, which is why we take great care in pairing families with the most appropriate therapist for their child's unique needs.

Our therapists bring deep specialization within their respective fields, whether that's working with specific age groups, developmental profiles, sensory processing differences, or particular areas of challenge. We carefully consider each child's individual differences, family dynamics, and therapeutic goals to ensure they're connected with a therapist who has both the expertise and approach that will best support their growth.

This thoughtful matching process means families can feel confident that their child is receiving care from someone who truly understands their specific situation and has the specialized skills to help them thrive.
